#38 Escapism

Assalamualaikum. It's March people. Time to wake up!

The new semester is knocking on my door in two more days. Sigh. Another semester to finish off my third year. InsyaAllah.

Well before I hit the reset button on my brain and switch it to study mode I went for a little adventure. That is going back to the nature :)) *yeah that's my double chin there*

I have been invited by a friend of mine to climb up a mountain in Jelebu, Negerei Sembilan. Its name is kinda spooky that is Gunung Besar Hantu. Yeah hantu is ghost.wuuu.scary.heh.

So we went there for three days two nights starting from 22nd February. From Kuantan I went back to Shah Alam and off we go to Jelebu. wohoo!

Day One

We boarded the bus at 5am and went back to sleep until we reached the destination. It took us almost two hours and we perform Fajr prayer at the local mosque there.

Teratai Bus Stop.

And then back on the bus for another one hour to Kem Perjuangan where we stopped by to have breakfast. Mind you that this is the only place with facilities like toilets and stuff :/

Well if you wanted to blend in with the surrounding then you have to be like one. This sentence does not make any sense. I know. Bear with me readers.

Annnndddd off we go into the woods. We went there by 4x4. A Toyota Hilux to be precise.

Another one hour journey to the starting point.

We're getting ready to hike up the monstrous mountain in Negeri Sembilan. It is said to be the tallest mountain in the state and come in ninety second in Malaysia according to Malaysia Mountains with 1462 meters above sea level.

We started our journey up and reached the first pit stop that is Sg.Kering after an hour. Sg.Kering (Dried River) is not actually dried. How ironic.hmm.

                                                    We need wotaaa.

Then we continued to ascend until we reached our campsite, Kem Orkid. The reason that it is being called Kem Orkid is because of this
Orchids bloom everywhere at this campsite.

Tara-chans :*

It took us about four hours because most of us are beginners including me and we have to bring our bags along. It's a full body hiking. So yeahh. Oh I forgot to mention that there were only eighteen of us (five ladies and the rest are the gents).

We set up our tents and rest the whole day while having late lunch at the waterpoint. That night we just get to know each other because most of us were not from PEWARIS. Oh PEWARIS is a society where students from Pahang gather and do activities.hehe.

Day Two

We were supposed to be climbing up the mountain to see the glorious sunrise but unfortunately the weather was not on our side. It was too windy and our guides advised us to not hike during this weather to avoid any unwanted circumstances. They said this was the first time the wind had been so strong plus they don't want our tents to be flying around on mid air.

So we prepared breakfast and shove it down our throat to give us energy to hike. The weather was so cold as to be compared to Cameron when the last time we hiked the mountains there.brr.

Pahang Darul Power!

It took about an hour and a half to reach the peak of the mountain. We snapped some pictures and had brunch there. Maggi was sooo delicious at that moment.yummeh :3

Alhamdulillah. We made it :')
Group photo!

When we descend from the peak it took us less than an hour. The track was slippery because of the humid weather. Few times I looked down at my right and there was ravine and imagined if I accidentally fall into one. The horror *goosebumps*

Packed our belongings and set our foot in search for the WATERFALLLLLLL!!!

Subhanalllah. Look at this beauty.
Lata Kijang Waterfall.
The road...I can't even describe to you guys. You gotta walk the road to feel it.mehehehe. But it was all worth it.

That night we had BBQ and everyone fell in a deep sleep.

Day Three

Water water everywhere. It's water tubing time. You people may not know that I'm an aquaphobic. Well a mild one. I guess. Every time people talks about how deep an ocean is or seeing a movie where the actor is diving, I tend to feel like I am the one drowning. But don't get me wrong I love water activities it's just gahh nevermind.

With the owner (in green) of the campsite, I think :P

And so my escapism is finally over. Sobsssss T____T

Till next timeeee :D

p/s: Perhentian Island is next InsyaAllah. More water. gulp :/
